Champa Silk Saree are peculiar to the state of Chhattisgarh. The saree is developed from wild tussar silk (Antheraea mylitta). Since the texture of the yarn is rough, the saree too has a rough texture. The patterning is done with contrasting extra weft yarns on jacquard looms. The designs are inspired by tribal motifs. The product range developed out of tussar silk includes a wide range of sarees, dress materials, stoles, dupattas and home furnishings.
